For Kaimahi in Hauora, Primary & Community Care 

To support and strengthen hauora, primary and community care, Te Whatu Ora has dedicated funding to grow, nurture and develop a skilled and diverse workforce that chooses healthcare as a lifelong career.

We are looking for kaimahi/staff who work in hauora, primary health provider or in community health care in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. You’ll be interested in further education and skills development or are needing support.

Using TytoCare – a virtual health platform that combines an app and hardware with various attachments to check vitals, ears, and throat and listen to heart and lungs in order for GPs to conduct remote examinations. AI enhancements use algorithms to help detect abnormalities and provide real-time insights for accurate diagnoses.

Cervical Screening Training

Blended Learning 8 Hours Online Modules and 8 Hours Practical Day

To strengthen the cervical screening workforce across the motu there are a number of Cervical Screening Course being held in 2025.

The course is offered in a blended learning format, with the theoretical component available online via Tāku Ako and a single-day practical session for hands-on training with our experienced nurse educators.

Closest location and date for EBOP is May 22 – Tauranga but others are on offer.

Navigating Menopause – Key Insights into MHT

TRAINING NP & GP

While the pathways will provide details on the breadth of MHT options, this webinar will build on your existing knowledge and focus on the practical and common prescribing considerations.

Topics include

  • Indications for MHT in 2025 (and prescribing guidelines)
  • Myths and evidence about risks and contraindications of MHT
  • Addressing a range of common questions, including counselling women about the use of MHT and managing its common side effects

Target audience

This education session is suitable for general practitioners and nurse practitioners who would like to gain further experience in managing menopausal women and prescribing MHT.

GP 25: Conference for General Practice

CONFERENCE

The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners invites health professionals to attend GP25: Conference for General Practice. Held from 24–26 July 2025 at Te Pae Convention Centre in Ōtautahi Christchurch, this event brings together practitioners to connect, learn, and celebrate their profession.

This year’s programme begins on Thursday, 24 July, with CME workshops exclusively for College members, followed by the main conference sessions on Friday and Saturday. The event concludes on Saturday evening with the Fellowship and Awards ceremony and a celebratory function.
