The Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a School-Based Nurse. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate professional to play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students in Ōpōtiki and the surrounding Eastern Bay region. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, with the option for either part-time or full-time employment.

The Role

As a School-Based Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, including:

  • Conducting health assessments and providing care for illnesses and injuries.
  • Administering medications and providing health education on topics like healthy living.
  • Working collaboratively with a supportive team of health professionals.
  • Accessing ongoing professional development to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a compassionate, autonomous, and experienced Registered Nurse with a strong desire to make a difference for rangatahi (youth). We are looking for someone who is:

  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Experienced in working with a diverse range of youth.
  • Knowledgeable in sexual health and contraception.
  • A strong communicator with excellent time management skills.
  • A New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate and at least three years of post-graduate clinical experience.

Experience as a school nurse is a plus, but we provide full training to the right candidate.

Details

The role is for term-time only, with flexible daily hours (e.g., 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
