Position 1: Health Administrator

Job Location: Whakatane, Eastern Bay of Plenty, Ōhope

Employment Status: Full-time

We are looking for an entry-level general administrator to join our team. A dedicated person who can undertake office administration and reception functions and support for the rest of the main team, with the potential to learn the core business of The Hepatitis Foundation of New Zealand and grow to take on more specialised tasks in time. This role is based in Whakatāne. 

Position 2: Community Hepatitis Nurse

Job Location: Auckland

Employment Status: Full-time

The Community Hepatitis Nurse is responsible for delivering safe and effective patient monitoring, care, education, and clinical services based on professional standards and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.  Nurses are responsible for providing education to GP clinics and community health providers to help them build knowledge and capability in the identification and management of people with hepatitis B.

The Hepatitis Foundation of New Zealand (HFNZ) is a charitable trust contracted to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, providing a health monitoring programme for people living with hepatitis B. Our free lifelong programme supports better health outcomes through regular monitoring, education, and referrals.  

Our vision is to eliminate viral hepatitis B in Aotearoa, New Zealand and we support the achievement of the World Health Organisation’s goals for viral hepatitis elimination by 2030. 

We partner with GP clinics and the health and social care network to identify and reach more people, support the ongoing care of their hepatitis B patients, ensure care is integrated and unnecessary duplication is reduced. 

We curate specialist knowledge and expertise and are a resource for primary and community care in the field of hepatitis management.
