EOI: Independent Researcher – Eastern Bay Primary Mental Health

The Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance is seeking an experienced independent researcher to help define and design primary mental health services in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. The goal is to strengthen local services with a focus on early intervention, accessibility, and culturally safe support for whānau (families), particularly Māori, Rangatahi (youth), and rural communities.
This initiative is a commitment to ensuring that people receive the right support at the right time, in ways that reflect their unique needs and aspirations. The project will map existing services, identify gaps, and gather feedback from whānau and providers. This will inform a new design for a more connected, equitable, and whānau-centered system. The work will also help develop a blueprint for similar initiatives across the region.
The project is expected to be completed by June 1, 2026, with an allocated budget of $60,000. Expressions of Interest are due by August 29, 2025.
