Over two hundred people received their COVID vaccination at the Ōpōtiki Health Centre on Saturday.

It was an outstanding turn out by the community. With some people enticed to participate in the day, thanks to the generosity of Te Pou Oranga O Whakatohea, who supported the event with a $10 pledge to each individual who received a vaccination, which was donated to a group of their choice!

A total of $2070 was raised on Saturday and all proceeds went directly back to the community, by way of the individually nominated kura (school), marae or EBOP hospice.

The day was also support by the Lions club who provided their kai caravan and the local Ukulele club with live music and entertainment.

THE EBPHA team also got involved with Super Saturday, helping out by cooking the BBQ and making sure both manuhiri and kaimahi were well fed!

It was an outstanding effort by the Ōpōtiki Vaccination team. Well done to everyone involved, in particular Teina Hudson who did an amazing job, organising the entire day!!

Congratulations Ōpōtiki for protecting your community and loved ones!
