Janet Maloney-Moni Scholarship
Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance (EBPHA) offer this Nursing and Medical Undergraduate scholarship to support local students who are undertaking medical and nursing studies. The aim is to improve the health and wellness of our local communities. These scholarships recognise the value of the late Janet Maloney – Moni who was a Māori nurse practitioner in our community for many years.
The year of 2016 the EBPHA had 18 applicants from nursing and pharmacy health disciplines.
This was narrowed by a panel to four student nurses undertaking studies at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi and one post graduate nurse from a general practice to continue her post graduate study.
The student nurse recipients are Aroha McLean, Tina Black, Aroha Ruha-Hiraka, and Kaysea Cronin. Post Graduate study Ashlea Simons a Practice Nurse from the Phoenix Medical Centre.
The presentation of scholarships will take place on the 16th February 2017.
